Plane Finder AR App Reviews

Really a cool app if its working properly. I use an iPhone 4S, and I constantly have to adjust the compass. Im in SE Ohio on the WV border, and Im a bit skeptical that Charlotte to Houston flights go over my area, or Tampa to DC. Yesterday it spotted a flight from Los Angeles bound for San Francisco... REALLY??? ;-) So Im curious about the authenticity of it... But its still cool!

I can see aircraft in the sky and on this apps map but it wont show them in the info box. Rarely shows me the planes I can see.

I live 10mi from an airport, this app cannot seem to locate any plane that is at any angle higher than 15deg from the horizon (i.e. anything remotely overhead, within several miles), so its pretty much useless. I contacted the developer on twitter, no response. I understand there is a (small) delay in ADS-B, but thats not the problem here.

Lately, I keep getting an error message that wont go away, even after clicking the OK button. It just comes right back-and the instructions state to go to the site but I cant find the info there either-anywhere. What to do?

Very fun and entertaining

Waste of money. It finds lots of planes but I dont see any of them even in completely clear skies. The large planes I do see arent labeled in the app. I live in a suburb of Denver.

What flight lover would not want to point a phone at a plane and get all the info?! The information is great, but it gives you info on planes you cant see and nothing on the ones you do....love to see some focus on the prize

I bought and used this in Bodrum Turkey There it was ok Now I am in Istanbul and actually a mile from this very busy airport All it says is there are no planes where you are located I am going back to Bodrum and shall try again and report what happens I hope Tia may be of some help to improve

I live in the direct landing path of Los Angeles airport, so I was really excited to see if the app worked as described. It works well and is a lot of fun to see planes coming and going. There could be some improvements like an info filter, but the app is great as is. They just updated it to feel more like iOS7. Cool app. Useful and interesting.

Im not having any problem with look and feel but a major problem with the data you are showing. It seems that MOST of the aircraft now show absolutely incorrect data. -NO I dont believe that the United flight going from Niagara in upstate New York to Logan airport in boston is 7miles from me in CONNECTICUT and at 2000 feet moving 200 mph. -NO I dont believe that the flight from Mannheim Germany going to Newark Liberty but traveling 180 degrees in the wrong direction is correct! -NO I dont believe that the aircraft I can plainly see 45 degrees up is 17 miles away when that is nearly the edge of space! What happened to this app??? Like I said with EVERY SHOWN AIRCRAFT something is WRONG with the data. Time to delete it.

Before this update i never used this app now it has logos and where it has departed and arrived. I will show and tell my friends about this app!

Don’t buy this if you’re thinking about buying Plane Finder - It’s included.

I pointed my phone at a plane passing by to land at JFK and everything showed up right under the plane as it was moving. Worked perfectly!

I live in the suburbs of Chicago. There are always airliners visible in the sky, but this app says no planes in range. It hasnt shown even one plane. Its worthless....dont buy.

Had trouble with finding planes in app. Contacted support who promptly got back with a fix. Great app. Lots of fun.

Text needs to be bigger or have greater resolution. Very hard to read. Also, I cant even be sure if Im seeing the right plane when I point it. Seems to be off by about 20 degrees.

...but would be better if you could tap on a flight ID square and zoom in or have it pull up a page with the details of the flight. Otherwise, at least on an iPhone, the type is too small to see what youre looking at.
